2019 and newer GMC Sierra 1500 and 2500 with MultiPro Tailgate

ITEMS REQUIRED: Scissors, clean rag and soap solution. Extreme temperatures will result in poor adhesive performance. Apply only if air and surface temperature is between 55° - 105°F (13° - 40°C). If 45° - 55°F (7° - 13°C) you can use a hair dryer and warm the tape and surface of pickup, 1’ (30cm) sections at a time, then apply.

STEP 1
Clean area thoroughly with soap and water solution and wipe completely dry. Use alcohol pad to prep the tape application area and let dry. Wait until after STEP 6 to apply very firm pressure to secure adhesive bond. If necessary, seal can be removed and repositioned prior to STEP 7.

STEP 2: ATTACHING TO SIDEWALL
Start 1” (2.5cm) below truck bed floor and attach seal to the rear corner edge of the left sidewall extension (FIG 2A). When nearing top of sidewall, gradually rotate seal 90° counter clockwise so that bulb is facing in-ward and the taped side of seal is flush with the sidewall at the top (FIG 2B). Cut to fit. Apply light pressure to adhesive. Duplicate for right sidewall.

STEP 3: ATTACHING TO INSIDE TOP OF TAILGATE
Cut and attach a 3.5” piece to the inside of tailgate at the top, bulb side facing out. Apply light pressure (FIG 3A and 3B).

STEP 4: ATTACHING TO SIDEWALLS OF MULTIPRO TAILGATE
Start at bottom of sidewall and attach with bulb side facing in. Cut to fit (FIG 4A and 4B). Apply light pressure to adhesive. Duplicate for right sidewall (FIG 4C shows closed position).

STEP 5
Cut 2 pieces to 1.25” (3cm) and apply as shown in FIG5A and 5B. Apply light presure to adhesive. Duplicate for right side.

STEP 6
Close tailgate. If you see light, make adjustments by removing the seal and repositioning. If there is still light then cut pieces of seal as needed and attach. Do not attach adhesive to seal.

STEP 7
After seal is in place, apply very firm pressure to secure the entire adhesive bond.

STEP 8: ATTACHING TO TAILGATE GAP
To evaluate the best positioning for the tailgate gap, cut a 1” (2.5cm) piece align the top of bulb with the lower ridge of truck bed floor or just below the ridge, should truck bed floor extend over the tailgate gap. If the bulb rolls downwards when closing the tailgate, so that you can see the tape, then seal has compressed too much. This occurs sometimes with spray on bed liners and/or in front of both hinges near the sidewalls. Simply invert seal so that bulb side is down. More often the bulb side is down for GMC Sierra (FIG 8A). Start at either end and flush to seal on the sidewall. Peel liner and attach in sections, applying very firm pressure to adhesive. Flush with seal on other sidewall and cut to fit. If air temperature will fall between 55°F (13°C) within the next 24 hours or, if seal is attached to a spray on bed liner, then leave tailgate open for 24 hours.
